Surface Innovations Team said good-bye to Onur on Monday with tasty pizzas. He is returning to Turkey on October 22, completing his ~6 months visiting research program at Michigan Tech with us. Onur completed his flotation tests on the effect of particle roughness on flotation recovery and kinetics, together with characterization of particles using scanning electron microscopy and atomic force microscopy. He has also prepared a foundation for modeling of forces between rough particles and a smooth surface. Onur and his adviser in Turkey, Prof. Celic, will continue working with us on completion of this program and publication of results.
